Case Study 01 — "The Restless Hour" with Declan Firth

From Bedroom Recordings to 26,000 Monthly Listeners in Five Months

Client Declan Firth, independent journalist

Format Long-form interview, 45–70 min episodes

Challenge Inconsistent audio quality, no distribution strategy, zero brand identity

Duration Ongoing since March 2024

Declan came to us with forty-three raw recordings sitting on a hard drive. He had interviewed activists, local politicians, and community organisers across rural Ireland, but the audio was marred by room echo, uneven levels, and no post-production. His show had no cover art, no RSS feed, and no presence on any platform.

We began with a full audio audit. Eighteen of the forty-three recordings were salvageable with spectral repair and noise reduction. We rebuilt his intro and outro with original scoring, designed a visual identity rooted in documentary photography, and structured a biweekly release calendar. Within five months, "The Restless Hour" reached 26,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone, with syndication across Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and a dedicated web player.

The key wasn't magic—it was a disciplined production pipeline applied to genuinely compelling content that had been trapped in poor packaging.

Outcome 26,000 monthly listeners

Episodes Produced 22 full episodes from raw material

Platforms Spotify, Apple, Pocket Casts, web embed

Ongoing Monthly retainer for editing + distribution
"We didn't just clean up audio. We built a broadcast-ready show from scattered conversations." — Glimpse Production Team

Why Case Studies Matter More Than Promises

Most podcast production agencies lead with service lists. We lead with evidence. Every engagement we take on becomes a documented narrative—what the client needed, what we did, and what happened as a result. We believe the work should speak before we do.

Glimpse Podcaster exists because too many talented voices are buried under poor production. The ideas are there. The stories are there. What's missing is the bridge between raw conversation and a show that people actually find, subscribe to, and return to week after week.

Below, you'll find our studio pipeline, additional case narratives, and the decision framework we use to determine the right production path for each client. If you recognise your situation in any of these stories, we should talk.

Built for Voices That Deserve Better

We've worked with solo hosts recording on phone microphones, branded content teams with enterprise budgets, and everything between. The pipeline adapts. The standard doesn't.

Every episode that leaves our studio meets broadcast-grade loudness targets (–16 LUFS stereo, –19 LUFS mono), includes embedded chapter metadata, and ships with a time-coded transcript.

142 episodes delivered in the last twelve months 9 active production clients across Ireland & the UK 3 shows in Apple Podcasts top-100 regional charts
Case Study 02 — Branded Content

"Inside the Build" — Harmon Construction Group

Harmon Construction wanted a podcast that would position their leadership team as thought leaders in sustainable building. They had no audio experience, no hosting plan, and a sceptical board of directors who needed convincing that podcasting was worth the investment.

We proposed a six-episode pilot season. Each episode paired a Harmon executive with an external guest—an architect, a materials scientist, a planning official. We handled pre-production research, provided interview coaching, recorded remotely using our guided session protocol, and produced each episode to a polished standard within ten days of recording.

The pilot exceeded expectations. Episode three, featuring a conversation about carbon-neutral concrete, was shared by two industry publications and generated inbound enquiries from three prospective clients. The board approved a second season before the pilot had finished airing.

Format: Branded interview series, 30 min

Episodes: 6-episode pilot, renewed for Season 2

Result: Trade press coverage, 3 inbound leads directly attributed to podcast

Quote: "Glimpse made us sound like we'd been doing this for years." — Roisín Harmon, COO

Which Path Fits You?

We don't offer one-size packages. Choose the engagement that matches where you are right now.

Rescue & Rebuild

You have raw recordings or an existing show that isn't working. We audit, repair, rebrand, and relaunch. Ideal for shows with fewer than 500 listeners or inconsistent production quality.

✓ Best for: stalled or struggling shows

Launch from Zero

You have an idea and a voice but nothing recorded yet. We guide you from concept through identity, pilot episodes, and platform launch. Includes interview coaching and release strategy.

✓ Best for: first-time podcasters

Ongoing Production

Your show is live and growing, but editing and distribution consume too much of your time. We become your production team on a monthly retainer—editing, mastering, uploading, reporting.

✓ Best for: active hosts scaling up

Not sure which path? Describe your situation and we'll recommend one.

Production Notes: How We Think About Sound

Audio waveform editing on professional software interface

We don't chase loudness. The podcasting loudness war produces fatiguing, over-compressed audio that listeners abandon after fifteen minutes. Our mastering targets –16 LUFS for stereo content with a true peak ceiling of –1.5 dB. This leaves dynamic range intact while ensuring consistent playback across earbuds, car speakers, and smart home devices.

Noise reduction is surgical, not heavy-handed. We use spectral editing to remove specific artefacts—a chair creak, a siren, a dog bark—rather than applying broadband gates that thin out the voice. If a recording is too damaged, we tell you honestly rather than delivering a compromised result.

Transcripts are generated using a hybrid of automated speech recognition and human review. Every proper noun, place name, and technical term is verified before delivery. These transcripts serve accessibility, SEO, and repurposing—clients regularly turn them into blog posts and newsletter content.

More Voices, More Evidence

"I'd been editing my own show for eighteen months and burning out. Glimpse took over production and I got my weekends back. The audio quality jumped immediately—listeners noticed within two episodes."
— Tara Nolan, host of "Small Hours" (wellness & mindfulness podcast)
"We needed a five-part narrative series for a product launch. Glimpse handled scripting support, voice direction, sound design, and distribution. The series hit 11,000 downloads in its first month—far beyond our internal projections."
— Aidan Keogh, Marketing Director, Lúnasa Health
"What I appreciated most was the honesty. They told me three of my recordings weren't usable and explained exactly why. That saved me from publishing something embarrassing."
— Fiona Buckley, independent educator & podcast host
